Two people killed in shooting on 35th floor of East Village apartment building – NBC 7 San Diego
A woman and a man were gunned down by the woman’s roommate in their apartment in San Diego’s East Village on Thursday afternoon, San Diego police confirmed.
SDPD officers responded to reports of a shooting inside a unit in the Spire San Diego building on Island Avenue between 14th and 15th streets at around 3:11 p.m. Two people were found dead in the living room, the SDPD said.
One of the victims was a 28-year-old woman who lived in the unit, and the other was an unidentified male, according to SDPD Lt. Andra Brown.
The suspect, who was taken into custody after being pulled over on Interstate 805 within an hour of the shooting, was living with the victim, the SDPD confirmed. The suspect had a gun and his 5-year-old daughter with him when he was arrested, the SDPD said.

No motive was detailed, but investigators said the shooting appears to be targeted.
Neighbors told NBC 7 that they heard gunshots coming from outside. The entrance to the building was cordoned off by the police.
