About 40 booths displaying a wide variety of doors, windows, marbles, furniture, curtains, automation, furniture, electrical equipment, glass products, sanitary ware and other materials for interior decoration were displayed during the three-day Architecture Interiors (AI) Expo. & Design Confluence, which started at the Novotel Hotel here on Friday. The exhibition is organized by the members of the Indian Institute of Architects, Visakhapatnam Center, in collaboration with the Institute of Interior Designers.

Indian Institute of Architects President Aditya Kambhatla said the event aims to bring together architects and allied professionals on a single platform to discuss and deliberate on various issues concerning the profession and get acquainted with recent technological developments, he said.

“This is a new version of the exhibition. This time, although it is the same exhibition of construction materials, we imagined a personalized stand. Almost all exhibitors came up with their own innovative designs and booth sizes were increased to facilitate greater public visibility. Raising people’s awareness of architecture and interiors is also a primary criterion for organizing such events,” he said.

“Confluence of Design”

About 54 exhibitors and 250 architects from across the country will participate in a “design confluence” organized as part of the event on October 15. Organizers say the confluence will witness panel discussions, design deliberations and presentations by renowned architects. and interior designers throughout. The confluence theme is RRR – Reside, Roam, Refresh.

Meanwhile, organizers also held a competition for architecture students across the state.

Earlier, Mayor G. Hari Venkata Kumari and Visakhapatnam MP MVV Satyanarayana inaugurated the event. Hon. Treasurer P. Phani Raju and other members were present.
