Sam Allardyce SLAMS Ravel Morrison: This is the biggest waste of talent I’ve ever worked with
The 24-year-old secured a transfer to Mexican club Atlas over the summer as his fall from grace continued.
Morrison was once considered one of the country’s top prospects after being signed as a teenager by Sir Alex Ferguson from Manchester United.
According to Rio Ferdinand, Fergie “thought he was the best player he had seen at this age”.
The video shows how talented the youngster was, scoring a sublime goal while training for the England Under-21 team.
A move to West Ham under Sam Allardyce was meant to breathe new life into the player with the hope that he would finally realize his potential.
But speaking on Sky Sports last night, Big Sam made a shocking admission about the midfielder.
He explained, “He was so good, but because of the mental side of his game and his life, he couldn’t produce this talent on a regular basis.
“It was the biggest waste of talent I have ever worked with.
“We had three months where Rabble was the game winner at West Ham every week.
“Everyone was thrilled with him and there was talk of a new contract, then all of a sudden it turned the other way.
Loan spells at Birmingham City, QPR and Cardiff City couldn’t make the most of him, and he was eventually dispatched to Lazio.
He failed to make an impact there and had an unsuccessful second loan spell at QPR before heading to Central America this summer.
