What’s needed
You will need to perform a street plan review. See Streets Plan Review Requirements and Applicable Forms for more information.
In person submission
Residential and commercial building permits: You will need to seek approval for your permit from the Department of Streets before applying for your L&I permit. You will need the Streets Review job application number when you apply for your L&I license at the MSB Licensing Center.
Other Permits: You must submit your Streets-approved plans along with your other application materials when you apply in person at the MSB Permits and Licenses Center.
Online submission
Residential and commercial building permits: Start your application with the Department of Streets via the eCLIPSE portal before applying for your L&I permit. You will be prompted to enter the Streets Review job application number into the L&I application.
Other Permits: Upload all plans and documents required by the Department of Streets when applying for your L&I permit through eCLIPSE. The Department of Streets will conduct its review electronically and provide its approval directly to L&I.
