To boost the real estate sector, the Ministry of Municipality yesterday announced the launch of the first edition of the Requirements and Services Guide for the Qatar Building Permit System 2022 and the third edition of the Building Requirements Guide.

The Ministry is working to encourage investment in the real estate sector to participate in the ongoing urban development process in the country, by developing and updating the Guide to Building Planning and Design Regulations in Qatar, which is a Important reference document for real estate property developers and consultancy firms operating in the country.

Director of Department of Building Permit Complex at the Ministry of Municipality, Eng Saad Abdul Karim Al Qahtani, said the launch of the first edition of the Qatar Building Permit Requirements and Services Guide, and the publication of the third edition of the Guide to Building Requirements for Qatar, comes following the directives of the Minister of Municipality, HE Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie.

The launch of the first edition of the Requirements and Services Guide for the Qatar Building Permit System 2022 aims to introduce the list of engineering documents and requirements, as well as the necessary permits from other service authorities when submitting building requests.

The third edition of the Building Requirements Guide has also been released after adding a number of improvements and updates that will be available in buildings.

Al Qahtani said the move was aimed at updating building permit requirements to keep pace with urban development in the country and to meet the needs of developers, engineering consultancies and people interested in the field of construction. building and construction.

“To simplify procedures and clarify the requirements to be met in construction applications, the ministry has launched the first edition of the Building Permit Requirements and Services Guide, which contains 403 pages divided into 5 chapters,” Al said. Qahtani.

He said that this aims to clarify the list of documents, data, plans and technical drawings that must be attached when submitting applications, in addition to other service authorities required to obtain permits and approvals from them and forms. used by them, according to building types in building applications submitted through the electronic building permit system.

“The guide also covered the types of buildings, whether residential, commercial, administrative, industrial or services, their specifications, and the documents and data required for each building,” Al Qahtani said.

He said that the main reasons for rejection of building applications in the electronic building permit system were also mentioned in the guide. “The third edition of the requirements manual dealt with several improvements and updates to the design and planning requirements that must be provided in buildings,” Al Qahtani added.

“The introduction to the guide includes a statement by the Minister of Municipality, in which he stressed the importance of encouraging investment in the real estate sector to participate in the process of urban and civilizational renaissance that the country is witnessing through the guide Planning and Design Building Regulations in Qatar, which is an important reference document for property developers and consultancy firms operating in the country.

He said the second edition of the Building Requirements Guide for Qatar, which was launched in November 2021, contained 2,127 pages divided into 47 chapters, and after updates and additions to the third edition, the manual contained 2,399 pages divided into 52 chapters.

“This guide, which is intended for all those involved in the construction sector, covers all the planning, organization and design requirements for buildings. It is one of the most important projects implemented by the ministry as part of its strategic plan and Qatar National Vision 2030,” said Al Qahtani.
