VIETNAM, Aug. 23 – HCM CITY – A visiting delegation of Indian business leaders from ceramic tile, porcelain floor, wall and decorative tile, bathroom sanitary ware and related industries met their Vietnamese counterparts in HCM City to compare notes and search for links.

During the Việt Nam-India business meeting on August 23, Vishal Acharya of Emerald Worldwide Connections Private Limited pointed out that India is the world’s second largest producer of ceramic tiles after China and accounts for 20% of global production. .

Indian companies are very interested in the Vietnamese market and not only want to export to the country, but also invest and produce there.

Nguyễn Hữu Nam, deputy director general of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Việt Nam, said that India was among the top 10 trading partners of Việt Nam, which in turn was considered an important country in the ” India’s “looking east” policy, which is reflected in the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries in recent years.

Trade between them reached $13.2 billion last year, up 36.6 percent year-on-year. India’s exports to Việt Nam were $6.95 billion, up 56.7% from 2020, while those from Việt Nam increased by 19.6%, it said. -he declares.

“To achieve this goal, Việt Nam and India should further strengthen their cooperation in areas where both sides have strengths and competitive advantages and complement each other,” he said.

Organized by the VCCI and Emerald Worldwide Connection, the meet was part of the promotional activities for the Ceramics & Bath Industry Show (CBIS) to be held in January 2023 in India, he said.

“After more than two years of being disconnected due to COVID-19, today’s event will provide Vietnamese companies with useful information on products, markets and incentives to participate in CBIS in India.

“Additionally, the B2B business networking session provides opportunities to find new partners and strengthen business relationships for businesses on both sides.”
