Pithampur/Mhow (Madhya Pradesh): Construction of Government College Building on Sanjay Reservoir Road of Pithampur Industrial Estate has been stalled following a dispute between the Forest Department and the Department of Education over ownership of the land
The district administration had cleared the way for the construction of the building and a construction contract worth over Rs 6 crore was awarded to Madhya Pradesh Housing Board. Meanwhile, the Forest Department claimed ownership of these four acres of land and refused to allow construction. The college would prove to be a boon to the students from the industrial area and their parents, as the children would not have to travel to Mhow, Rau and Indore to study. At present, the College is operated in only 4 halls in which students study arts and commerce, in the premises of the government school.
Pithampur Sub-Divisional Officer Roshni Patidar said the revenue department and the district administration are making every effort to find a way out and are in constant contact with the two opposing departments.
