AT TU Dresden, Faculty of Civil Engineeringthe building construction institute seeks to fill the
Chair (W3) of Sustainable Building Construction
from April 1, 2023.
As holder of the Sustainable Building Construction Chair, you will represent the scientific sectors of sustainable building and glass construction with a commitment to research and teaching. The construction of sustainable buildings should play a key role in this. Your teaching duties relate mainly to the degree program in civil engineering in direct studies and the distance learning program as well as to the English-speaking master’s course ACCESS (Advanced Computational and Civil Engineering Structural Studies) and include the content of the chair in accordance with the current study regulations of the Faculty of Civil Engineering. Forms of teaching and examinations must be offered both face-to-face and digitally. We expect you to acquire third-party funding from federal sources (DFG, BMBF, BMWI, etc.) as well as from the EU and the certified glass construction laboratory to be continued by the chair. We attach particular importance to your willingness to cooperate with other professorships of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and other faculties of TU Dresden. Cooperation with non-university research institutions in the vicinity of TU Dresden is desired. We await your active participation in academic self-administration as well as your willingness to teach in English.
We expect relevant theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of sustainable building construction and, if possible, in several of the following areas: structural glass construction, facade construction, structural bonding, energy optimization of facades and buildings. You must be able to demonstrate your ability to conduct academic research through appropriate publication activity. Applicants must fulfill the professional qualification requirements of the Law on Autonomy of Higher Education Institutions of the Free State of Saxony (§ 58 SächsHSFG).
