Value of building permits in Red Deer increases in September

The number of permits issued also increased by 35 compared to last September

The value of building permits in September rose again in Red Deer.

According to a statement from the City of Red Deer, as of last month there were 112 permits approved worth $9 million, compared to 77 permits issued in September 2021 worth $3.9 million.

Year-to-date building permit values ​​remain higher in 2022, with current values ​​of $138 million, up from $87 million last year.

Two permits for buildings exceeded $1 million in value, including an interior finishes package at A05-4900 Molly Banister Drive worth $1.5 million. The other permit was for a 4,672 square foot building at 20 Trinity Close, valued at $1.25 million.

Other notable permits included structural repairs to the garage roof and ramp, watertight repairs to the roof and foundation wall at 100 Parkside Drive valued at $399,000, and modification of fixtures and an addition to the existing structure at 6-7659 Edgar Industrial Drive, valued at $342,000. .

In August, there were 97 approved permits worth $23 million.
