A full building permit has been issued for 1000M, a 74-story luxury apartment tower located at 1000 S. Michigan Ave in the South Loop. Ready to go vertical, McHugh Concrete, McHugh Construction’s concrete subcontractor, recently completed a nine-hour continuous pour of concrete for the structure’s mat slab foundation.
Co-developed by Time Equities, JK Equities and Oak Capitals, 1000M was designed by the late Helmut Jahn. Rising to 805 feet, the tower features a highly sculpted form with an angled cantilevered base topped by glass-covered residential floors that widen as the building rises. JAHN continues to be the architectural firm behind the project as construction resumes.
With 738 apartments, the residences will range from studios to three-bedroom penthouses. Tenants will have access to luxury amenity spaces including a golf simulation room, outdoor pool with cabana, cooking area, and a full-service 73rd-floor cocktail lounge with views of the surrounding city.
Located behind the main tower, a parking garage will rise to provide 325 parking spaces for residents. 356 bicycle parking spaces will also be available to tenants.
With construction is in full swing, the mast slab foundation milestone completes the foundation under the 1000M main tower. Work is now expected to go vertical and construction is expected to be completed in 2025.
